In May this year Tiptree Scouts were informed by letter from the Treasurer of Thurstable School’s PTFA that the PTFA had folded and in essence Thurstable would not be putting on the Fireworks this year. So sadly Tiptree and adjoining villages have lost the annual firework night possibly forever. It was quite a shock to the Tiptree Scout Group as this was one of the very few annual community events and  a considerable loss of funds for them and they believe they contributed greatly to the success of the event.

They had assumed that Thurstable School would make a public statement as in essence it has always been their event which they partnered with the Scouts over a considerable number of years once St. Luke’s dropped out.
