Poppy Shop for special items

The official period for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in 2022 will be 29th October to 12th November. The collectors will be at Tesco and Asda on 29th October and from 5th November to 12th November and at Wilkin & Sons from 29th October and there will be tins at various local businesses from 28th October to 13th November. Remembrance Sunday will be on the 13th. The Tiptree District now encompasses Great & Little Braxted, Messing and Layer Breton. I am also looking after Layer de la Haye.

New collectors are always welcome, so please get in touch with Sue to volunteer, you will need to fill in this editable form and send it to me. Any businesses and organisations which haven’t taken part before are also encouraged to get in touch.

Shortages for Poppy Appeal Collections 2022

Ideally there are two people collecting together at Asda and Tesco and one at Wilkin & Sons, as you can see from the list below there are some gaps. We can always start late or close early.  The most important ones are the ones marked with blue. Where it says 2 people needed we can run with just 1.

Please can you fill some of these gaps. Also please note we may have to close early on Saturday 5th and 12th. Saturday’s are our best days usually. Note the times are different at Wilkin & Sons from the 7th November. So please get in touch if you can volunteer.

If you don't like collecting, maybe you could help us set up or close down. Here is a picture of some of the 28 boxes that we have in store and there will be more once the new stock arrives.

We shall be setting up on 27th October between 10:00 and 17:00. We shall be closing down on 16th November between 10:00 and 17:30.
