Remembrance Sunday 8th November 2020 In Tiptree and The Poppy Appeal
In view of the coronavirus pandemic, it was decided by the Parish Council not to have a formal Remembrance Sunday Ceremony at the War Memorial with a road closure.
As the Poppy Appeal organiser, I am now trying to facilitate the laying of wreaths at the war memorial. Wreath laying will take place in 30-minute slots throughout the day so that small groups can lay their wreath(s). Obviously, any groups will need to comply with the social distancing regulations in force on the day. The following times have been allocated for socially distanced wreath laying, 08:45 to 10:45; 11:45 to 14:15; and 15:15 to 16:15. Any groups who have a wreath to lay and haven’t yet contacted me to arrange a time, please do so as soon as possible.
There are three periods during daylight when the war memorial will be free for anybody else to pay their respects: between 07:00 and 08:45; between 10:45 and 11:45; and between 14:15 and 15:15. Please make sure you observe the latest covid-19 regulations.
If you would like me to get a wreath for you this 75th Anniversary year of WW2, and you haven’t already organised one, please get in touch with me.
A small formal ceremony will be videoed and put on social media, so that it can be viewed online on the 8th November via You Tube; Tiptree Community Facebook; and www.tiptreecommunity.uk.
I will provide an update early in November.
